Should I take a year off of school after I graduate high school?

I'm a 16 year old senior and don't turn 17 until next year (I started school very early). This month I have just been bombarded with all of this college information and it's really starting to get to me. I am feeling really pressured by all of these deadlines and my parents are telling me that maybe I might not be ready for college. I personally don't know if I am ready myself. I was thinking of maybe if I were to take a year off and just work my current job and possibly just attend a local community college. Would it hurt my chances of getting in to a college next year if I took off a year? Would you want to send you're barley 17 year old son off to college? My GPA is a 3.7 and have a SAT score of 1860. Please help I am very stressed out.
