Help with Hamlet essay, please?

You have to remember that Shakespeare was not tying to convey anything to his readers, he was trying to entertain an audience of playgoers. This is not a philosophical essay. The latent uality behind all of this posturing about what it is to be a man is the interest. Hamlet cannot tolerate the juxtaposition of god-like reason in a body driven by sensual appetites. The dead father is the ideal, safely dead and so beyond the indignities inflicted by lust. Hamlet cannot bear the fact that his parents are ual beings. This is not the meaning of the play, it is the tension that keeps the audience's attention. always sells.
