Was Nathan Bedford Forrest as good a general as Robert E. Lee?
I know that Forrest was good and that he was a cavalry commander, but how good was he compared to Lee? Do you think that he is better than, equal to, or not as good as Lee? Do you think that the south might have won if Forrest was in charge instead of Lee? I am merely curious and I wanted to know what other people's opinions were. I personally think he was better. Forrest faced off against Grant first and he gave Grant fits of anger from his raids. I think Grant even said that Forrest was the only confederate officer he feared, or something like that. And Grant defeated Lee... What do you think?
