When did the censorship of films end?

I remember watching early movies from before the 1960's and all of them are really cly and don't mention (well, they hint at it sometimes) and stuff. But then I watched a 1960's film of Lucille Ball and they said "". Then I watched a 1973 film with Elizabeth Taylor in it and they showed her ~ sort of. It isn't a big deal now, those sort of things being done on films. But it sort of popped out at me because they're what people refer to as "clic" films. So around when did the "censorship", if one could call it that, of films end?
