Why do texans act all american well thats how i see them if texas use to be mexico then its own country?

Louisiana used to belong to France, and Alaska used to belong to Russia. The original 13 colonies used to belong to England. But things change. Yeah, Texas used to be part of Mexico. We're not part of Mexico now, nor are we an independent republic. We are as American as anyone else.
